The 2006 Formula One season was a fight between, Renault and Ferrari. Renault, led with reigning champion Fernando Alonso and teammate Giancarlo Fisichella, started strong with consistent podiums and early wins.

Ferrari, with Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa, came back into it mid-season after a series of dominant performances. The title battle went down to the final few races.

Renault held their nerve to win for the second year in a row.

Key moments included Schumacher’s engine failure in Japan and Renault’s strong double finish in Brazil.

Renault clinched the Constructors’ title, marking back-to-back championships as both drivers and constructors champions. Ending Ferrari’s bid to reclaim their former dominance.
