  • 1969 French Grand Prix, was held at the Charade circuit near Clermont-Ferrand. Jackie Stewart dominated in his Matra-Ford, on the challenging, twisting volcanic roads. Teammate Jean-Pierre Beltoise followed closely, securing a one-two finish for Matra on home soil, a major triumph for the French manufacturer.

The race highlighted Stewart’s commanding 1969 championship and demonstrated Matra’s engineering strength. Despite the circuit’s narrow layout and abrasive surface, the event ran smoothly and remains remembered as a classic of Formula One’s earlier era.
